Ophanie Orthopedic Dog Bed for Large Dogs with Washable Cover, Non-Slip Bottom and Waterproof Liner, 35 x 22 x 3.5 in, Gray
19.97 USD · Available to order, delivery to be confirmed
This review checks what Walmart's listing for the Ophanie Orthopedic Dog Bed actually documents, and where the record leaves gaps. It focuses on the single supplied gray configuration measuring 35 x 22 x 3.5 inches.
The Ophanie Orthopedic Dog Bed, Walmart item 5257371669, is listed as a gray rectangular bed measuring 35 x 22 x 3.5 inches and positioned for large and medium dogs. Only this single configuration is documented; no alternate sizes or colors appear in the record.
The problem it aims to solve is a common one: giving a dog a defined, cleanable resting spot. The listing emphasizes a washable removable cover, a waterproof liner and a non-slip bottom, which together point at easy maintenance and floor stability rather than luxury cushioning.
The decisive specification is the 3.5-inch overall height. That is a fairly low profile, so while the cover and liner features are practical, buyers should treat the "orthopedic" label cautiously. The foam type and density are not stated, meaning actual support for a heavy or aging dog cannot be confirmed from this data.
Translated into buyer terms: this reads as a sensible, low-cost, easy-clean bed for an average-sized dog, but not a proven pressure-relief bed for large seniors with joint issues. The strong-sounding feature words are claims, not measured results.
The record lists a 4.5 rating across a large review count, but no written reviews are supplied, so that number is an aggregate signal only and not evidence of specific, repeated owner experiences. Weight limits and material composition are the key gaps to resolve on the live page.
Product highlights
- Removable, machine-washable cover is stated in the listing, which matters for owners dealing with shedding, mud or accidents.
- A waterproof liner is described, suggesting the inner foam may be protected from spills or incontinence, useful for older dogs.
- Non-slip bottom is listed, which may help keep the bed in place on hard floors.
- Fixed 35 x 22 in footprint is clearly stated, letting you check it against a crate or corner before buying.
- Sits at a low, everyday price point, making it an accessible option for a basic washable bed.
Who this product may suit
- Owners of a single medium-to-large dog who need a bed that fits a roughly 35 x 22 in space.
- Households wanting an easy-clean bed because the cover is removable and machine-washable.
- Situations where floor grip and spill protection matter, such as tile floors or a senior dog.
What to consider before buying
- The foam type, density and thickness beyond the 3.5 in overall height are not documented, so cushioning and support cannot be confirmed.
- No maximum dog weight or breed-size range is given despite the "large dogs" claim; suitability for a specific dog is unverified.
- "Orthopedic" and "waterproof" are manufacturer claims in the title, not independently verified by test evidence here.
- The record shows a 4.5 aggregate rating across many reviews but includes no written review text, so recurring owner opinions cannot be cited.
Bottom line
The strongest reason to choose this bed is a practical, low-cost combination of a washable cover, waterproof liner and non-slip base in a clearly stated size. The strongest reason to look elsewhere is the thin 3.5-inch profile with undocumented foam, which makes the "orthopedic" support claim unverifiable for heavy or senior dogs.
